A regional hospital’s standby generator control system ran on a PLC platform the manufacturer no longer supported, leaving a critical life-safety system dependent on obsolete hardware. CEI delivered a turnkey controls upgrade: replacing the obsolete processor with a current redundant-processor platform interfaced to the existing I/O, updating the panel design, converting the PLC program, and upgrading the operator interface. After a factory acceptance test, the system was recommissioned as a more robust and reliable standby platform.
