Pima County Regional Wastewater Reclamation Department set out to evaluate the electrical power and thermal energy infrastructure at its Tres Rios Water Reclamation Facility as part of an Energy Master Plan, looking ahead to load requirements through 2050. Working alongside Carollo, CEI supplied the electrical, instrumentation, and controls perspective, assessing existing infrastructure and recommending upgrade and replacement strategies, and evaluating cost-effective ways to power the facility using commercial power, natural-gas generators, and solar-battery storage. The resulting plan gave the department a data-driven roadmap for powering the facility today and against projected 2050 demand.
