Tucson Water – Central Tucson PFAS Project

A large PFAS plume in the local aquifer drove Tucson Water and Carollo to build a remediation facility that pumps groundwater through sediment-removal and ion-exchange vessels before discharging to a nearby canal. CEI provided the electrical, instrumentation, and controls design, construction support, and programming for the new facility, including automated valve actuators, P&IDs for coordination, and design supporting remote access. CEI programmed the PLC and operator interface, configured an RTU for remote monitoring, performed a factory acceptance test, and supported I&C start-up, letting operators treat the contaminated groundwater and monitor site conditions remotely.
